Organic Chemistry Vocabulary Used in Chemical Engineering

Organic Chemistry Vocabulary Used in Chemical EngineeringWhen it comes to working in a chemical engineering or organic chemistry course, it is necessary to be familiar with the most important terms in this discipline. This will enable you to learn more about the various processes involved in organic chemistry and how these relate to chemical engineering. As it relates to the course of study that students undertake, there are two main categories that relate to the study of organic chemistry. The first deals with the methodology of the field. In short, this means the way that organic chemicals are developed and used for different applications. The second category relates to the process of pyrolysis. Pyrolysis refers to the method of converting organic substances into simpler molecules by means of combustion. This process is not restricted to the production of fuel but is often used for the production of chemicals and fuels. There are several terms that are important in the study of organi c chemistry. These include the names of the different types of organic compounds that are involved in the overall process. For example, propane is a component of fuels that are used for vehicles. Anhydrous ethane is another type of fuel that has been used for vehicles. While many organic compounds that are used in the process of pyrolysis do not have any significant number of carbon atoms, there are some that do. The term methyl acetate is an example of a compound that has a large number of carbon atoms. Methyl acetate is considered a byproduct of the process of pyrolysis. As well as learning about the various components of organic chemistry vocabulary, students will also need to be familiar with the various processes that are associated with the field. Chemical engineering involves processes that have a direct impact on the environment. One of the major processes involved in the field is flue gas desulfurization. This is where the process of flue gas desulfurization is used to remove the odors that can sometimes be created from certain products.Another process that is used to remove the odors is called reverse osmosis. This process involves the use of water through a very fine membrane in order to remove any smells that might be present. The process of deionization is used for the same purpose but is not as successful.Gasification is a major component of the process of pyrolysis. The process of gasification uses heat to create the necessary conditions for the chemical reactions that occur during the process of pyrolysis. This allows the reactions to occur at a much higher temperature than is possible with the use of other methods.

Statistics in Chemistry

Statistics in ChemistryStatistics in Chemistry is very important for those who are into making chemistry experiments. This form of study is being taught in more schools nowadays. So, what exactly is Statistics in Chemistry?Statistics in Chemistry teaches students how to analyze different methods of calculating data that are available. These measurements may come from the human body, cell tissue or computerized data. Different methods of calculation can also be used to analyze this data. Students will learn that different methods to calculate data are also used in chemical experiments. The teacher will also be teaching students the importance of the fundamental data in any science experiment. The student's knowledge and understanding of the concepts are important when working on a project. Statistics in Chemistry will help students understand why they are trying to achieve a particular result by applying their new-found knowledge.Students in Chemistry will also be taught the basic idea behind the measurements that are needed. These will give them a better understanding of how their physical experiments should be carried out. There are different methods to measure these elements such as atomic force, atomic absorption, laser-induced atomic emission, atomic numbers, mass spectrometry, frequency spectrum, and energy spectra. Students will also be able to use a specific formula that is used in these measurements.Another part of Statistics in Chemistry that students will be taught is that in chemical reactions, the exact position of an atom in the molecule is important. Students will learn about the different ways to identify the atom and how to determine its place in the molecule. Students may also be asked to calculate the number of atoms and molecules present in a given sample.Students will also learn about the units that are used in chemistry. The molar mass is the most common unit used for allocating molecular weights. Other units used are the molecular weight, a tomic mass, atomic weights, and the charge, or quanta.Students will also learn about the factors that are important in determining the values of chemical formulas. These factors include the bonding, solvation, equilibration, pore formation, and total concentration. Students will also be taught how to calculate these values using their knowledge and understanding of statistics in chemistry.

How To Learn Chemistry Online

How To Learn Chemistry OnlineChem tutoring students can get help with their homework and tests through the Computer Education Academy at UCI, the nation's largest online chemistry tutoring school. The college provides the best online science curriculum and tools, training in chemistry and physiology, and special support for students who are struggling.Chem tutoring students who need extra help to complete their assignments can use UCI's Assessment Software, which includes several Chemistry Tutoring Programs and a community portal that serves as a bulletin board, where students can post their work. Using their UCI account, tutors can post their questions, answers, progress reports, notes, and even test preparation resources. Each of these features is available on the website, so students can be up-to-date on current events and how to get involved with their education program. An online chemistry tutor may also offer their services through the Internet Labs Portal. Students can access t he lab board and perform all of their assigned tasks there, through the university's online lab's system. This means the lab assistant is in a far more familiar setting and has the ability to work with a student without risking personal contact or jeopardizing results. For students who wish to get started right away, the Chemistry Academic Consulting and Tutoring Program is designed to give a quick lesson and have students create and solve a scientific problem. This course is not necessary, however, and some online chemistry tutors offer complementary programs such as online labs and EAP (Extra-Curricular Activities). Many schools have two or three courses, allowing a student to choose one for a semester or quarter, or continue with another. If students start with the third-year course, it will give them a better opportunity to master a more specialized science.UCI chemistry tutors take their studies seriously and are able to interact with students and their faculty in the same way th at science professors would. To find the best online chemistry tutor, students should search their school's website, ask their teachers, and contact a local tutor they know personally. For any science course, the ability to approach a subject with an open mind, to participate in group discussions, and to identify what is being taught are important. No matter what course you enroll in, chemistry is one science that requires learning the 'other side' of every single concept, so that you are equipped to become a better person.

Tough mathematics becomes easy with Tutor Pace online tutoring methods

Tough mathematics becomes easy with Tutor Pace online tutoring methods Knowledge is something that stays with us until we die. It may be with us after our death as well. Bookish knowledge is one part and increasing your intellect is another part of the same coin. Since the initial days of our education, we are forced to amplify our bookish knowledge that helps us to get into increasing our intellect quote as well. From our school days we are taught to take up each subject properly and to devote time and concentration over each subject. But as well grow up we find some of the subjects tough and some of the subjects that can be easily handled. The ones that are easily handled can be self taught as well and there no need of any teacher is justifiable. Students can arrange any kind of help for themselves regarding such subjects. But some subjects that seem tough for them needs some special care. Special care means taking out more time for that subject and seeking guidance from any of the good tutor. Mathematics comes under the second lot and thus requires lot of concentration for the work to be done. Without the help of a good teacher it is not possible for anyone to crack this tough subject with ease until the candidate is a genius. Is private tutoring beneficial? Let us talk about the private tutor who is there to help you out during your need. Yes, today many such teachers are found in every nook and corner of each city but have you thought how much and which is effective in every sense. There are very few teachers in today’s time you will get who are very much serious about their profession and make it a point to teach their students with full dedication and much importance. Everyone is professional in today’s date and thus devoting much time on one student does not make sense to them anyhow. The private tuition classes have opened up with coaching classes as well in which the class is accompanied with many students at a same time and the teacher delivers his speeches and notes to all. This form of teaching can be ok for any of the average or intelligent student but for those who are weak at any of the subject and for example in maths, what will happen to them. They will not be able to cope up with ease and thus fail badly in their grades. Such students need something extra. Something that will bring them closer to know the subject with ease and in a better way. A teacher who will reach out them, whenever they will face any hurdle. But such type of desires where baseless before as nothing of such type was formed. But today with the advent of technologies things are changing many new way outs have also been arrived. Online tutoring is a one stop solution Yes, it is the online tutoring that is the best and the newest way of solution for any education related problem. Today many institutes are arriving in that helps any student to learn a subject easily ad without much difficulty. The entire process of learning is conducted through the help of internet. A good internet connection is enough to enroll into such classes. The institutes gather some of the good teachers under one roof who are capable to teach the students with any kind of subject as per their demand. Whether it is a difficult subject or it is an easy subject, the teachers are well versed with the subject and know how to handle it. Not only this but the teachers first reads the minds of the students and then frame out the actual problem that the student is suffering from related with the subject. The form a strategy and work on it for the student’s development. This way the student is able to learn and know about the subject in a much better way. The entire process takes less time and also more importance is devoted on one student at a time. This is possible because of the availability of some of the good teachers. The good teachers make it possible for any student not to get scared with any of the subject and to face it boldly. But this is possible when you have in depth knowledge about the subject. Online tutors are available all round the clock and throughout the year as they do not have any holiday session and this characteristic of them makes them even more attractive. The students are showered with lots of help from such kind of online tutoring facilities. Even the interview process of the teachers is also tough and this is the result that they get some of the best teachers for their institutes. Which one to opt for?   You may be in a dilemma as which one to opt for. You will be thinking that which institute is best among the lot as many institutes have come up with same service catalogue. For this I can suggest one name and that is TutorPace. TutorPace is a great institute that helps in teaching its students in some of the brilliant way possible. It is a reputed institute and has some expert and experienced teachers who can carry of their subjects with dedication and devotion. The teachers are available always and do not have any time duration. The most amazing part is that each student is entertained by a single teacher and that particular teacher devotes their entire time upon one single student at one point of time. This way the self confidence of the student also increases up and that becomes visible with their grades. In respect to many other similar institutes, TutorPace charges lesser. The rates for any of the service are affordable for any of the middle class family and it does not become a burden for them. Where we find good online math tutoring will no longer be a question that will be asked future as TutorPace is ready to serve.

Spending months at sea or trekking through pristine wilderness to discover... of whatever may lay at the end of their path and along it?Magellan, Livingstone; Sir Francis Drake and Captain Cook: armed only with compasses and astrolabes, a keen eye for observation and artistic talent, they mapped the world as they saw it and, in the process, claimed lands and reaped treasure for their home country. As exciting and romanticised as they are, those days are gone, sad to say, but that doesn’t mean there are no new realms for the modern-day geographer to explore and record! For anyone who has ever wished they were born a few centuries earlier so that they might set off on a ship to discover and catalogue faraway lands...Superprof now lights your path, p roving that earning a geography degree can be a gateway to exciting and lucrative work.Minus the dysentery, malaria and cholera you might have succumbed to back then.Geography is divided into two broad, complementary fields of study: human geography and physical geography.Areas of specialisation in the field of human geography include:cultural geography: a subfield of human geography, it analyses cultural mores and material aspects of human life across regionseconomic geography: the organisation and distribution of economic activity around the world.regional geography focuses on humans’ interplay with natural aspects of a region.urban geography studies the built environment and urban lifestylesocial geography: here, an emphasis is placed on social factors in context with the environmentPolitical geography is the study of countries â€" their borders, boundaries and possessionsOn the other branch of the discipline, physical geographers study:world regional geography: the study of wo rld regions from a geographical perspectivebiogeography: the study of organisms and ecosystems in specific locations and geological erasPhytogeography studies the distribution of plants!environmental geography: the relationship of people to their environmentsAs you can see, the choice of careers is far-reaching, all the more so because most of the disciplines are interrelated. For example, you may set off to study social geography in Africa, but perhaps you should partner with an environmental geographer in order to get a more complete picture of your subject matter. What if you don’t like to travel? That does not mean that a geography major is not for you.Consider street layouts in major metropoli: London, Paris, Berlin or New York. Guess what type of degree urban planners may hold?Pursuing a program of study in geography does not mean you must necessarily set off for distant shores; you may well work in a government office, right in your hometown, if you so choose!Geography degree programs do not compel their alumni to set off in uncertain waters... unless they want to! Source: Pixabay Credit: ComfreakThe Point of a Human Geography DegreeToday’s focus is decidedly on climate change. As we slide into our coldest months and as we agonise over the future of our planet, meteorologists and climatologists are our go-to source for information.Who do climatologists turn to for evidence of global warming?Glaciologists are scientists who study, track measure and record ice sheet and glacier activity: how much melt, how much movement and their impact on the surrounding environment.Climatologists also rely on pedologists to analyse soil and its interaction with climate â€" how rainfall and temperature affect organisms and minerals within the soil.Completing the geographic information relating to climate are two more disciplines you are most likely familiar with: oceanography and coastal geography.Alarming rises in sea level, seawater temperature as well as the amount o f ice melt from the polar caps give climatologists a clear picture of warming effects.Besides furnishing those data, coastal geographers track and map humans’ interaction with coastal waters: building retaining walls, measuring sea level rises and sediment movement. Each one of these interdisciplinary branches of science, so urgent today, is an aspect of physical geography. If you are passionate about the future of our planet and wish to engage in some sort of conservation effort, even an undergraduate degree in geography will help you fulfil your desire to preserve earth systems for future generations.Do you need more reasons to study geography?Other Jobs with a Geography DegreeOnce again you aver that you have no desire to head out into the wilderness and catalogue everything. You want to stay right where you’re at... there is nothing at all wrong with that! So, you must be looking for a specialization that you could use in urban development, right?Fortunately for you, there are plenty of geography courses through which you could earn a bachelor, which will put you where you want to be!Consider urban and regional planning: you may work for the government or as a private contractor but, either way, your job would be to help cities make the best use of land and resources. You may also be called upon to help tackle environmental problems your city faces and plan where to build new schools or where to put new roads. If you are of a conservation and sustainability mindset, you will be happy to know that the trend of urban studies is toward those very concepts! What if your geography curriculum includes a course in cartography? This career field is what most people see as the primary function of a geographer  - probably a throwback to those early explorer days those with wanderlust dream about!  Indeed, as a cartographer, you may produce maps for the government, for atlases and for travel information systems.Should this type of work call to you, you would likely trav el quite a bit, possibly with a surveyor.Let’s say you have been commissioned to draw a map of northern England.  Surveying the demarcation line between England and Scotland would be necessary for an accurate rendering; thus you would need someone qualified to do so.Oh, wait: you don’t want to leave home! How about becoming a GIS specialist?Geographic information systems use technology to collect, manage and model geographic data.Upon completion of your undergraduates’ degree, you may choose to find a position with such a concern. There, you would primarily work in an office, building databases of coordinates and compiling satellite imagery. You may further be called on to conduct spatial analysis or create maps for general education courses. If, down the road, you wanted to try your hand at field work, as a geographical information systems specialist, it would be entirely within your job description to do so.How much would geography tuition cost to excel in this discipline? You d on't have to be conservation-minded to work in environmental studies but you do have to have a geography degree! Source: Pixabay Credit: Mystics Art DesignUK schools are facing dire shortages of teachers for non-core subjects, including geography. If you are or you have a student near GCSE level, you surely are aware of the dearth of earth science teachers in schools across our country. That being the case, perhaps you’ve set your sights on teaching natural science in the classroom.Education requirements are slightly higher for humanities teachers than for, say, anyone who works in natural resource management. Not only must you undertake coursework for your major in geography but you must also acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be a teacher.Where can you find geography courses tailored to future classroom leadership? It may sound like qualifying to teach geography is onerous but, should you teach, say, at postgraduate level, you would have a further opportunity to lead a r esearch project and possibly even publish your findings.Speaking of writing...There is such a wealth of opportunity just now for anyone with a science degree to write authoritative articles, be they about environmental science or even about travel!Science publications, online and in print, always welcome well-researched contributions; they encourage analytical reporting of distant locations’ natural environmental change! To wit, those reporting on Krakatoa’s explosion and the impacts of plastic in the oceans...Whether you choose the highly visible fields of meteorology and climatology as your future career or the more invisible field of geographic information science...Whether you are still working on your general education requirements, an undergraduate student or anywhere on the post-secondary spectrum, one thing is clear: to pursue your passion and find employment in this social science, you must study geography! Now calling all explorers: get a jump on your studies: find out w here you can connect with a geography tutor!

Difference of Two Squares

Difference of Two Squares The difference of squares is defined as the product when sum of two numbers is multiplied with their difference. Difference of squares is also known as binomial where both the terms are perfect squares and one term is negative. This rule is not applicable for sum of squares. Symmetrically, the difference of the squares can be factored as following as the like terms get cancelled: (a + b)(a - b) = a^2 ab + ab b^2 = a^2 b^2 The like terms ab and +ab got cancelled. In the above formula, both a and b have to be the same numbers. In other words, the difference of squares is applied only when a and b is same. It is explained with the help of the following illustration: (x + 2)(x 3) = x^2 3x + 2x 6 = x^2 x 6. Now, in the above equation we did not get perfect squares because b was not same and there were no like terms. Now, let us examine when b is same. (x 2)(x + 2) = x^2 + 2x 2x 4 = x^2 4 (now, like terms -2x and +2x got cancelled) Problem 1: Find the factors of the following a. x^2 25 b. 4y2 81 Solution: a. x2 25 = Now we will first try to find out the perfect squares. = We know that x^2 is the perfect square of x = And 25 is the square of 5 = Thus, factors of x^2 25 = (x 5)(x + 5) b. 4y^2 81 = We have recognized the difference of squares in the above equation. Now, we have to find the factors. = 4y^2 is the square of 2y = And 81 is the square of 9 = Thus, factors of 4y^2 81 = (2y 9)(2y + 9) Problem 2:- Find the final product of the following a. (x 7y)(x + 7y) b. (3z 5)(3z + 5) Solution: a. (x 7y)(x + 7y) = x2 + 7xy 7xy 49y2 = x2 49y2 (the like terms got cancelled) b. (3z 5)(3z + 5) = 9z2 15z + 15z 25 = 9z2 25 (the like terms got cancelled)

10 Study Habits That Actually Make a Difference

10 Study Habits That Actually Make a Difference Suzy S. The middle and high school years are the best time for you to form study habits that will guide you through a great academic career! Your parents and teachers might be able to encourage and push you further, but staying on top of things ultimately falls on you. If you start practicing effective study habits now, you will discover later that it was well worth the effort. Here are some tips to keep in mind: Set up a schedule. One of the most effective study habits is to make sure you do your homework at a specific time every day. Allow for a few hours when there is nothing else you need to do, so nothing is stressing you out or keeping your mind off of the work. Decide how much time you’re going to give to each class, and put aside more time for harder classes. Create a workspace. Set up your study space so that it caters to your individual learning style, whether thats completely quiet, or perhaps with a bit a background music. Also, keep everything organized and clean, as well; if your workspace is pleasant, this will make studying a lot easier! Avoid distractions. Don’t fall into the trap of leaving the TV on while working or being constantly interrupted by Facebook notifications. Switch everything off and only use the Internet for research. These kinds of seemingly harmless disturbances can end up taking hours from your work without you even realizing it, so remain focused and stay on schedule. Use a planner. For most students, this is the best way to keep track of tasks, manage your time, and remember important dates for upcoming tests and assignments. Not the planner type? Find another method that works for you whatever helps you keep everything organized! Take breaks. Always take breaks when doing your homework. Although you may be in a hurry and desperate to finish, the truth is that the more you cram, the less you really learn. Try splitting the work into manageable parts and take regular breaks after you finish a task. This way, you’ll stay rested, you’ll remember everything you read, and you won’t get burned out. Reward yourself. When you finish a difficult or time-consuming project, reward yourself! If you have a huge test coming up, plan to go to a movie with your friends that night. Do something that allows you to unwind and have fun so that you have the motivation to get started on something new again soon. Determine your learning style. If you’re finding it difficult to remember things, then perhaps you are not making the most of your particular learning style. Some students learn more effectively through visual aids, while others learn by hearing someone explain it to them. Some need to write the information in order to memorize it, while others feel the need to physically engage in a project and learn through experience. Determine your style, and make the most of your strengths. Take care of yourself. Just because you’re busy and have a test coming up doesn’t mean that you should forget about what comes first â€" which is you being well-rested, healthy, and happy. Take care of your body and mind by sleeping well, eating healthy, and exercising the rest will follow. Take advantage of resources.Use the local library. Dont forget youre not expected to know all of the answers right away! Take advantage of the resources at your fingertips, such as your local library. Incorporating outside resources like images and documentaries can add life to your school projects. Ask for support. If you feel that a particular topic is too difficult for you or your teacher at school is not explaining it well, dont be afraid to ask for extra help. Private tutors  are a great option for support; not only will he or she help you understand the material, but they can help you develop good study habits and stay organized. Study groups with friends in your classes can also work as long as you stay on task! Establishing solid study habits now will prove to be a great asset in your life. So stay concentrated and motivated; invest some time and effort now and you will be glad you did! Interested in Private Lessons? Search thousands of teachers for local and live, online lessons. 5 Must-Do Steps Before Submitting Your College Application

5 Must-Do Steps Before Submitting Your College Application The following piece was written by Linda Abraham. Linda has been featured in ourAdmissions Expert seriesand is the President and Founder of Accepted.com. You think youre ready to submit your college application? WAIT dont do it! Or at least, not yet. Before you hit Submit, make sure you follow these important steps: 1. Clean up your social media act Many adcom will not just review your application, but will spend some time Googling you as well, checking your profiles on social media sites and making sure that they like what they see. Please be responsible and take down anything that makes you look bad you know what Im talking about. Note: Having a social media presence isnt a bad thing; in fact, clean, well-written, and well-maintained social profiles can show the adcom that youre tech savvy, creative, and with it. 2.Check that your application creates a holistic picture of you Your resume, recommendations, transcript, and essays should all work together to create a holistic picture of your qualifications, skills, experience, interests, and goals. You are a multi-faceted person with lots to offer dont make the mistake of having overlapping, repetitious info in your application. Instead, take advantage of the space you have to present as many, varied aspects of who you are as possible. 3. Make sure that youve expressed why youre a good candidate for this program You may be the Einstein of our generation, but if you havent expressed your unique fit with your target program, then you could still hit the chopping block, despite your blinding brilliance. 4.Proofread everything Spend a significant amount of time editing your essays and resume, as well as the boxes and forms on the application itself. A sloppy application shows that youre a sloppy person. 5.Follow up with your recommenders Your application may be complete on your end, but if your recommenders have lost your recommendation in the mountain of papers on their desks, then you may as well consider yourself doomed. Follow up with each and every one of your recommenders to make sure that your recommendation has been submitted by the deadline. VisitAccepted.comor find them onFacebookandTwitter.
